When to learn the names of the letters – harfs?
Twenty-nine surahs in the Qur’an begin with abbreviations or single harfs. Not counting the ones repeating multiple times, there are fourteen abbreviations in the Qur’an, and they have fourteen consonants: (n, s, h, k, y, m, l, h, s, r, k, elif, t.). One abbreviation can have from one to five sounds. In every abbreviation we only pronounce the name of these letters as you can see in the animated lesson below.
